Technology, special effects, and lighting can improve with time, but magic can never be recreated. When it comes to classics, there’s something deeply fulfilling and grand about them. This legacy should always remain untarnished for generations to come. That doesn’t mean that new movies are not great. Some of them are actually astounding.
I am not a big fan of streaming. But with my Spectrum HBO, I get to watch some of the best movies in great quality. Here’s a rundown of some of the must-watch movies of all time. Enjoy binging on them and thank me later!

He befriends Red (Morgan Freeman) in the prison. The challenges which prisoners experience getting back to normal life after long years in prison will get you feel things for days.

Avatar is a creation of the legend director, James Cameron. It is one of the highest-grossing movies on box office. The world created by Cameron and the anti-war message conveyed have made the movie worth all the glory and fame. The movie literally keeps you glued to the screen for 2 hours and 42 minutes!
The action, the imagination, the beautifully created creatures, and the love of Mother Nature are some powerful aspects of the movie. 3D technology has never felt better. If you haven’t watched it, you are missing out on a great experience!
The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)
One of the best movies on our list! Inspired by true events, the movie is based on the life of Chris Gardner. The protagonist’s role is played incredibly well by the living legend, Will Smith. The success story of a man rising from desperate poverty and homeless to one of the mighty legends of Wall street will inspire you. If you are looking for motivation on pursuing your dreams and fighting all the obstacles, which come your way, this is a must-watch.
Pulp Fiction (1994)
Pulp Fiction has to be an electrifying milestone in the filmmaking industry. Quentin Tarantino has implied some clever storytelling methods with an eccentric set of different stories. You will witness some of the most iconic and sizzling dialogues you have ever heard in a movie. It’s definitely a must-watch. And if they ever decide to come up with a remake, people would consider it a cardinal sin!
Gone with the Wind (1939)
This legendary movie achieved monumental success and bagged 8 Oscars. It is also a true representation of its time. The depiction of slavery is flawlessly realistic. And the sweeping romance will make you fall in love with it. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that it has set a standard in movie-making that’s almost impossible to meet. A must-watch!
Set in the Roman times, the movie revolves around the life of a powerful and brave general. He was forced to give up his titles and ended up becoming a common gladiator. The story of how he takes his revenge and rises up again will have you glued to the screen. Subsequently, he earns massive popularity in the arenas and threatens the throne. A must-watch blockbuster by Russel Crowe!
No Country for Old Men (2007)
Llewelyn Moss discovers the gruesome aftermath of a drug deal while he is out on a hunt. Unable to resist, he takes the cash knowing it could get him in trouble. A merciless killer, Chigurh ends up picking his trail and starts looking for him. An aging sheriff also looks for him in order to protect him and to hide his own dark secrets. A great thriller!
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
The movie won the award of the best motion picture at the Globes. And not just that, it won an entire generation. You will end up becoming a fan of Queen if you are not already!
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975)
Based on the novel by Ken Kesey, this one is one of the greatest movies ever made! It has rightly won several Globes, BAFTAs, and 5 Academy Awards. The story revolves around Randle McMurphy, who despite his mentally sick condition ends up leading a hyped revolution. He plans an escape out of the mental asylum. Watch it to know what happens next.
P.S. I Love You (2007)
Since there had to be at least one romantic movie on the list. This is our best pick. The story revolves around Holly Kennedy who is traumatized after her husband’s death. He was the true love of her life. She is surprised to discover that he had planned ahead and had left a series of letters to encourage her out of her grief and to start a new life.
This romantic movie will move you and will leave you teary-eyed at many points. Out of all the movies I have watched on my Paramount Network on Spectrum, this one’s my favorite. I literally cried so many times. Also, I fell in love with the couple and the chemistry between Gerald Butler and Hilary Swank.
